A Rustic Summer Wedding at Maplehurst Farms
I absolutely adored working with Hillary and her family this last summer. From our first meeting to the mock set up and finally to the day of their wedding, Hillary was so laid back and easy going. It was really exciting to help bring her vision of a rustic wedding to life.
There were so many things that I loved about her design. Her colors were grey and light pink. For the ceremony, they took taffeta sashes in both colors and lined the aisle with bows on the chairs. These chairs were then moved after the ceremony to the head table, allowing the sashes to perform a double duty! This is a great way to stretch your design and allow it to work in multiple ways.
In order to bring more attention to the head table, Hillary decided to use a rosette overlay and a willow skirting on it. By keeping the color in the neutral palette, it allowed the texture difference in the linens to really set their table apart. I just love how it turned out! (P.S. Don’t you just love the rustic lanterns? Maplehurst has these for you to use)
I especially liked how the curtain over the garage doors really framed the building and created a softer, more elegant look. This can be done at a stand alone item with the frame or we can attach it to the doors. It just brings the venue to the next level.
We always enjoy working with Jesse and Jeffery at Maplehurst Farms. If you haven’t had a chance to get out and see their venue, you must. They typically have open houses on Wednesday evenings, but check their website to confirm.
