If you have been in the valley for any amount of time, you are probably been to La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib. But did you know that they provide event catering as well as a space to host your reception dinner? I had the pleasure of meeting Kari, the owner of La Conner Seafood and Prime Rib, just a few short years ago in the Skagit Wedding Society. Since our first meeting, our friendship has grown and I have the opportunity to work with Kari and her staff in many events as well as sample her tasty food! Read blow to learn more about Kari, her company, and amazing staff!

Tell us a little bit about who are you and what you do in the wedding industry.

We enjoy bringing great food with fabulous service to the wedding industry. To often weddings can be stressful and our goal is to deliver beyond your expectations and with ease, food and service your guests will rave about.

Every entrepreneur has a story. Tell us a little bit about yours. How did you end up running your business?

I started working for La Conner Seafood almost immediately out of high school. I started as a busser and then eventually after 5-6 years became the manager. Soon there after the business sold and I parted ways with the new owner. Eventually it ended up in the hands of my former employer. At a chance encounter they asked if I would be interested in lunch. I had since moved one and took over a restaurant in Anacortes. With prompting from God about the doors he opened we jumped in and bought our second location. Deciding just 6 months in that La Conner was our heart. Instead of dividing our energy we focused on growth just here.

What makes you stand out when compared with other professionals in your field?

The thing I hear most often is that it is easy to work with me and I respond quickly. I also think the the high work ethic and desire for perfection is passed on to my staff when they see me care that much. I also believe in the staff with refer to as family, because they hold the same values as we do. We are blessed to have multiple ten year staff, so we can execute events with ease.

What is one piece of advice you would give to couples planning their wedding?

Tasting matters, I find that it’s worth comparing the vendors who are within your budget. A few extra dollars spent on a trusted food vendor with a higher quality could really go a long way.
